The three things to know
- No one can guarantee a visa or an appointment date. The embassy decides, and slots are assigned at submission — never held in advance.
- The appointment is the drop-off, not the visa. Your visa is issued only after the consulate decides — a separate, later step.
- Your fee pays for the work, and the work begins the moment you pay. Preparation and submission are the service; the embassy’s decision and timeline are not ours to control.
Section 01
What you're actually buying
When you pay Opaige, you are buying a service: the professional preparation and submission of your visa application. We deliver this in full, every time. Specifically, we:
- Validate every document against the destination embassy’s requirements
- Catch and fix the issues that cause avoidable refusals — before submission
- Prepare your forms and supporting documents (per your package)
- Book your appointment at the official visa centre and submit your file
- Keep you updated at every stage, by email and in your dashboard
This is the work — and it is what determines your chances. A well-prepared, consistent, honestly-presented file is the single biggest thing within anyone’s control. That is the part we own, and the part we are paid for.
Section 02
What we do not sell — and no one can
Three things are simply not ours to give. Any service that claims otherwise is either misinformed or misleading you — and a “guaranteed visa” is the oldest scam in this industry.
The visa decision
Only the embassy or consulate approves or refuses. We make your file as strong as the requirements allow — we cannot guarantee approval, and no honest service can.
The appointment date
The date is assigned by the visa centre (TLScontact, VFS, BLS) at the moment of submission, from whatever is available. We cannot choose, promise, or pre-book a specific date.
The processing time
How long the consulate takes to decide is entirely theirs. We give you honest estimates — we cannot make the embassy move faster.
We never guarantee a visa, a date, or a job. If a service does, see our guide on how visa scams work.
Section 03
How appointment slots really work
This is where most misunderstandings begin, so read it carefully. Appointments are issued by the official visa centre — TLScontact, VFS Global, or BLS International — depending on the country. Here is the reality:
Visa centres release appointment availability in batches — open to the entire market, and they fill within minutes to hours.
A slot cannot be reserved, held, or pre-booked against an incomplete or unpaid file. The date is assigned only when a complete, paid application is submitted.
“Slots have opened” means availability has become bookable right now — which we pursue immediately — not that a seat is being held in your name.
We monitor the centres continuously and book the earliest slot your complete file qualifies for. The faster your file is complete and paid, the better your chance of an early slot.
Section 04
Appointment ≠ visa: the two clocks
Getting an appointment and getting a visa are two separate clocks — and confusing them is the cause of most disappointment. Here is the real sequence:
Step 1
The appointment
The drop-off day, when you physically submit at the centre. Depends on slot availability — we book the earliest we can.
Step 2
The embassy decides
After submission the consulate reviews and decides — typically ~15 working days for a Schengen visa, but an estimate, not a promise. Peak season can make it longer.
Result
Your visa
Issued only after the decision — for the dates you applied for. The appointment is the start of the clock, never the finish line.
Section 05
Why your travel dates must be realistic
Your visa is granted for the dates you apply for — it is not recalculated from the decision date. If a decision lands after your stated start date, you simply lose those days; the window does not shift forward. That single fact drives everything:
- Dates that have already passed, or start the day you apply, cannot be met — and look implausible to a consular officer.
- Leaving no buffer for processing is one of the most common reasons short-stay visas are refused.
- A realistic window — submission, plus the decision time, plus a margin — is what makes a file credible and achievable.
Putting an impossible date on the form does not get you there faster — it loads the file for refusal. We will always advise the earliest realistic dates and build your application around them.

Section 06
Expedited & premium appointments — what actually qualifies
People conflate two very different things here. Getting them straight saves a lot of false hope.
A faster appointment slot
Premium / Prime-Time
Many visa centres (VFS Global “Prime Time”, TLScontact premium services, BLS) offer paid priority appointments and premium-lounge service where the embassy permits it. This gets you an earlier or more comfortable appointment — it does not speed up the embassy’s decision. Available for most visa types at centres that offer it.
A faster decision
Expedited processing
A faster decision by the consulate is rare and entirely at their discretion. It is generally offered only for documented emergencies — medical treatment, the death or funeral of a close relative, urgent unavoidable business, or specific categories such as students with a fixed start date — and requires proof. It is never available for ordinary tourism “because I’m in a hurry.”
What Opaige does
- Every package includes appointment booking at the official visa centre.
- On VIP, we pursue the fastest / prime-time appointment where the embassy offers it.
- You can request a premium-lounge appointment as a standalone — for example for an emergency — once you have an application with us, directly through your case specialist in your dashboard.
- We tell you honestly whether expedited processing applies to your case. We will not sell you a fast-track the embassy does not offer.
Section 07
What strengthens vs sinks a file
Strengthens
- One consistent story across every document and form
- Realistic travel dates with a buffer for processing
- The correct main destination (where you spend the most nights)
- Genuine, verifiable documents — never fabricated
- A declared purpose that matches your evidence
Sinks it
- Contradictions — documents or details that tell two different stories
- Dates that have passed, start the day you apply, or leave no processing buffer
- Wrong jurisdiction — applying to a country that is not your main destination
- Purpose mismatch — your stated reason for travel not matching your evidence
- Fabricated bank statements, bookings, or letters (an instant refusal — and often a ban)
The thread through all of it: one consistent, honest story. Changing the trip mid-process — adding travellers, shifting dates, switching purpose — is the fastest way to introduce a contradiction. Decide it, then let us build it.

Section 09
How refunds work
By completing payment you authorise Opaige to begin work immediately, and your service fee is earned at that point. Because preparation starts on payment, fees are non-refundable, with one exception: a failure by Opaige to deliver the service you paid for.
Critically, the things outside our control — the embassy’s decision, the appointment month, the processing time — are not service failures, because they were never ours to guarantee. We deliver the preparation and submission; the consulate decides. Government and third-party costs (centre fees, booked appointments) are non-refundable once incurred.

Frequently asked questions
Can you tell me my appointment date in advance?
No. The appointment date is assigned by the visa centre at the point of submission, from the availability open at that moment. There is no date to quote before a complete, paid file is submitted.
Can you hold or secure a slot for me while I finish paying?
No. No slot can be reserved or held against an incomplete or unpaid application — by us or by anyone. The centre assigns the date only when a complete, paid file is lodged. This is why early file readiness matters: the sooner your file is complete and paid, the sooner we can book the earliest available slot.
You said “slots have opened” — does that mean one is reserved for me?
No. It means appointment availability has become bookable at that moment, which we pursue on your behalf immediately. Slots are open to the entire market and fill fast — they are never reserved in an individual’s name before submission.
Can you guarantee an appointment in a specific month?
No. Appointment availability is controlled by the visa centre, not by us. We book the earliest slot your complete file qualifies for, and we are transparent about what is realistic — but a guaranteed month is something no legitimate service can promise.
Is the ~15-working-day timeline guaranteed?
No. It is an estimate of the consulate’s typical decision window after submission — not a guaranteed figure. Peak-season volume, backlogs, or an individual review can push it longer. We advise planning with a generous buffer rather than against the minimum.
If my visa is granted after my stated start date, do I get a fresh validity period?
No. A Schengen visa is granted for the dates you apply for; it is not recalculated from the decision date. If a decision lands after your start date, you simply lose those days — the window does not shift forward. This is exactly why your dates must be realistic, with a buffer.
Can I get an expedited appointment?
Two different things. A faster appointment slot (premium / prime-time) is available at visa centres that offer it, as a paid service, for most visa types — it gets you an earlier appointment, not a faster decision. Expedited processing (a faster decision by the consulate) is rare and discretionary, generally only for documented emergencies. We will tell you honestly which, if either, applies to your case.
Can I get a refund if the appointment is not in my preferred month?
No. By completing payment you authorise us to begin work immediately, and the service fee is earned at that point — work begins on payment. Fees are non-refundable except where Opaige fails to deliver the service. The appointment month, which depends on the visa centre’s availability, is not part of what we can guarantee. See our Refund Policy for full detail.
